Serving Patients From Schaumburg, IL
Urgent Care in Schaumburg with EPIC Urgent & Family Care
Urgent care providers like Dr. Patel and our team of nurse practitioners are on the front lines of medicine for patients in Schaumburg, and they need to be proficient in evaluating and caring for any patient who walks into their clinic. That means there is some overlap between the scope of practice in urgent care medicine and many other medical specialties involving direct patient care. We offer the urgent care Schaumburg patients need.
A clinic like ours is not the same thing as an emergency room. Patients with medical problems on the high end of the severity spectrum should go to the emergency room, but patients on the low end may get treated quicker through urgent care, with the added benefit that they may already be Dr. Patel’s patients. Make sure to get directions before you head our way.

All About Schaumburg
Schaumburg was only incorporated as a village in 1956, but it dates back much earlier. The first inhabitants of the area were among the Sauk, Fox, Potawatomi, and Kickapoo tribes, and settlers from Germany and the eastern US arrived in the mid-1800s. The home of one of the German settlers, Johann Sunderlage, still stands in its original location. The township was completely German by 1870, while Yankee settlers set their sights on the newly opened lands of the Great Plains.
Schaumburg remained almost entirely German-owned until the Great Depression when some of the foreclosed farms were bought by non-Germans, but the German heritage of the area remained strong. It was still the first language of most of the households into the 1950s, and the community’s oldest Christian church, St. Peter Lutheran Church, held its services in German until 1970.
Today, Schaumburg is home to over 75,000 residents and the Frontier League’s Schaumburg Boomers baseball team. They play at the Boomers Stadium, formerly the Alexian Field of the Schaumburg Flyers. There’s a lot of interesting history and character in the area!
See What Schaumburg Has to Offer
A fascinating place to visit in Schaumburg is International Sculpture Park. The beautiful grounds were configured to display the Chicago Athenaeum’s collection of contemporary sculptures. The artists are both American and international, and the sculptures include ones that resemble Stonehenge, abstract pieces, and the Lady in the Hill, a giant sculpture of a woman embedded in the hillside. It’s a great place for the whole family to enjoy nature and art at the same time.
A fun place even Canton locals might not know about is Mastermind Escape Games. Will you and your friends or family be able to get out within 60 minutes? There are multiple rooms to choose from depending on what kind of experience you want to have, but either way, expect a fun challenge! You and your friends, family, or coworkers could discover the Sorcerer’s Secret, find the cure for a deadly (fictional) outbreak, attempt a daring bank heist, or discover the secrets hiding in the neighbor’s spooky shed.
